The U5 Point Learning Institute
The mission of the U5 Point Learning Institute is to advance the quality, credibility, and reach of learning across the lifespan. Through professional education, applied research, practical resources, and field-building ideas, the Institute strengthens the people, practices, and systems that make meaningful learning possible, with particular attention to continuing, workforce, and professional education. Its work is guided by afive-point promise of Learning with purpose, centered on people, grounded in practice, supported by proof, and directed toward possibility.
The Institute offers advising in the following areas:
1. Noncredit Education Review
A structured assessment of an institution’s current portfolio, governance, quality standards, financial practices, learner pathways, employer relationships, and organizational capacity.
2. Noncredit-to-Credit Pathway Development
Helping institutions move beyond vague claims of stackability by creating actual recognition, articulation, advanced standing, or credit-for-prior-learning processes.
3. Integrated Workforce Learning Systems
Institutions increasingly need to connect non-credit learning, employer-based training, prior learning assessment, certificates, microcredentials, and degree pathways into systems learners can navigate and trust. University 5.0 helps institutions design integrated workforce learning systems supported by clear standards for quality, rigor, assessment, and recognition.
4. Noncredit Education Leadership and Faculty Advising
Individual and small-group advising for directors, deans, continuing education leaders, and faculty assuming responsibility for noncredit education. Academic expertise and leadership experience do not always translate readily to the distinct demands of adult, continuing, and workforce education. We help leaders navigate that transition and support faculty in adapting their expertise, instructional approaches, and expectations to the noncredit and adult learning environment.
5. Custom Institutes and Leadership Retreats
Facilitated planning sessions for cabinet leaders, academic deans, workforce boards, or cross-functional institutional teams
